MaasaiMara

Africa's most iconic wildlife stage — where the great migration crosses the Mara River, where lion prides hunt at golden hour, and where the open plains stretch to the horizon.

THE LOCATION

Our Closest Cousins

Our Closest Cousins

Uganda is the only place on Earth where you can trek both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in one trip, in two forests just hours apart. Bwindi holds over half the world's remaining mountain gorillas. Kibale carries one of the highest chimpanzee densities in Africa. This is as close as photography gets to looking at family.

For photographers, it's an hour with each species, on foot, at close range, led by trackers who know individual families and communities by name. Kibale is flatter, good for catching behaviour and movement through the canopy. Bwindi is steeper, and the reward is a silverback holding your gaze from a few metres away.

We base you right by both parks so trek mornings start fresh, not after hours on the road. Small groups, real time in each forest, watching behaviour unfold instead of ticking a sighting.

WHY THE MARA

Four reasons photographers come back.

Rarity
01

Home to over half the world's mountain gorillas.

Bwindi holds more mountain gorillas than anywhere else on Earth. This isn't a maybe. It's the best place on the planet to find one.

02

An hour, on foot, a few metres away.

No vehicle, no barrier. Just you, a tracker, and a gorilla family going about its day like you're not even there

03

Flat forest, steep forest. Both work.

Kibale is easier underfoot, built for behaviour and movement. Bwindi is steeper, and the payoff is a silverback holding your gaze.
